AV IN THE SANCTUARY /CHURCH
Written By: Michael Massura
I had a wonderful discussion with Liz Koerner, an upcoming Pastor. She is working as a Director of Youth Formation for St. Paul & the Redeemer in Chicago. IL; while she is in her 3rd year of seminary school at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
We are discussing different issues within the industry of Audio/Visual. Hot topics like installation issues, contractors, board operators, finding help to operate AV equipment, microphone placement, wireless microphone systems, hearing assistant systems, FCC repack, Video Equipment, Online Broadcasting.
Finding help to operate AV equipment can be a hard struggle to find.
Here is a little information about the FCC repack on the 500, 600 bands.
This is who the FCC is and what the repack is:
Spectrum Repacking. As part of the broadcast spectrum incentive auction, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is authorized to repack the television band by assigning television stations to new channels. This process will pose significant challenges for the broadcast industry. FCC Repack Schedule

Safety Tips Please make sure that you do not move anything that is too heavy for you. Ask for help, Big shout-out: Thank you Michelle Anderson for helping move the TV with me from the basement to the upstairs. Make sure you have the right tools for the job. If you see any shorts or damaged cables repair them or trash them. Always remember working with electricity always use common sense and proper safety practices!
